Both pairs, colorwise, are great neutral colors that go well with almost everything. The mids with the black outsole will fare better unnoticed when dirty as opposed to the grey fog dunk’s outsole. Not a big deal, but just something to take note of. I personally find mids and highs a bit tougher to style with shorts as opposed to low tops, again, me personally since I’m shorter. Both pairs, material-wise, use standard general-release synthetic leather, with the Mid having a slightly better material around the ankle collar and swoosh (the suede elephant print). Both pairs will get that pretty rough toebox creasing because of that synthetic leather, so something to be aware of. If I may suggest a 3rd option since you mention they will be your go-to all-around shoe and may get a bit more wear, is to consider the Nike Dunk by You option with a mix of the colors. The reason I’m suggesting that is because the materials that come with Nike Dunk by You are much better and will last and look better over a longer period of time. They do cost a little more, but personally, I think it’s worth exploring that option, but if you’re set on a budget, I personally would go with the AJ1 Mid Black Elephants because of the ease of keeping them clean, and the fact they do have an air unit in the heel as opposed to the dunks that doesn’t have an Air unit at all.
