I work at the F&b industry as a 16 year old trying to earn some money during my school holidays in Singapore. For work attire regarding shoes I am required to wear a black shoe/sneaker and so I use my school shoes as it does the job… until I worked the night shift.

The shoes I’m wearing are the new balance mens black shoe

I slipped and fell on my 2nd day during closing time, the kitchen gets really soapy and wet and the worse part is the entrance to the kitchen is upward sloping, hence when I leave the kitchen to enter the restaurant dining area, it would be a downward slope. During the morning/afternoon/evening, there would be an anti-slip mat as we need to carry food to and fro and serve guests, but during closing time , a full timer staff would roll it up which led me to fall freaking twice on my bum n elbows and it hurts man. I’m currently trying to look for anti-slip or slip resistant shoes which are affordable so wish me luck and share some juicy advice or just comment/criticise

Search non-skid or non-slip soled shoes. They make a lot. I’m not sure what’s available to ship to Singapore. They often come in black since they’re more uniform focused.

The downside is I’ve never had any there as comfortable as New Balance tennis shoes. But I really haven’t looked to see if there’s more of a black sneaker type of shoe available. So there might be. But they’re certainly will be black shoes available.

And these soles work really well. They are designed for kitchens and also mechanics working on greasy floors.

You may look at restaurant supply websites.

This was only in the US that I’m aware of, but Payless shoes used to sell them online too.
