I’ve never had a watch before so for my 18th birthday, my dad gave me his watch. This is a vintage Omega De Ville Prestige from the 1995 collection. It is a 36mm so it is on the smaller side and is really dressy.

The watch originally had a metal strap that was made of gold and stainless steel however I didn’t think it suited me very much so I decided to replace it with this black Omega Alligator Strap with a Gold Buckle. I really like the black alligator strap with the gold and white watch face as I think it makes it look very classy

What are your thoughts on it?

Leather is a great choice (technically-speaking, leather is the most formal of watch strap/bracelet materials and therefore is “dressier” than a metal bracelet, though over the past couple of decades the metal bracelet has become an acceptable substitute for leather). It works exceptionally well when you match your leather accessory/clothing (e.g. belt and shoes) colors with your watch strap for very formal occasions.

    Also, happy birthday!

This is nice, the ol’ trusty 1120 (mod eta 2892) that if you ever encounter a problem with it, anyone can service it.

That’s a classy piece. Wear it, take care of it and hand it to your son when he’s 18. It’ll be just as classy then.

Very nice. Good choice of strap. I had my eye on the SS small seconds version several years ago. They even had a platinum version ref. 4021.31.01 with a guilloche dial. The small seconds versions were manual wind.
