Hey y’all, Can I get a few suggestions for good quality makeup brushes that are budget friendly?! I’m still on the beginner side with makeup, so I don’t really want to spend a bunch on the biggest name brands that have deals like $42 for a 3 pack, OR $12 brushes that look like they came from a kids makeup kit, and won’t get the job done 🌚 Making progress in makeup is actually really annoying due to the little things! 😂 Thank y’all in advance!!

Also, Happy Holidays Everyone :)

BK beauty brushes are great — I try to get them on sale or use an influencer code . They have been a game changer for my makeup application !

I’ve had this set from eco tools for almost 10 years and they’re still good as new. I don’t remember the price exactly but it must have been cheap, maybe like 30£ for the set, because at the time I was broke as, I don’t see myself purchasing anything pricier than that

I honestly have never felt the need to get expensive makeup brushes, the cheap ones have always done a great job! I use mostly a mix of Real Techniques, EcoTools, ELF, Coastal Scents, and no-name Amazon or TJ Maxx/Marshall’s brushes. I’ve got a few Sephora brand brushes as well that are great, more expensive than the rest of them but not outrageous.

I ordered some elf brushes 2 days ago, and I’m checking out RT as we speak. I just wanted some input from others who actually wear makeup often, and know what to look for in quality. I’ve gotten makeup kits to experiment with (Amazon) and all the brushes have been really soft, too flimsy, and kind of uncontrollable. Like, I could be brushing in one spot and it’ll flatten out and go everywhere else, or the bristles fall off, or get stuck going one direction. I hope this isn’t a me problem and I just exposed myself😅

I’ve heard a lot of good things about real techniques! This is probably gonna be the one I pick up.

Elf. So good. Flawfless face, ultimate blending and buffing foundation are amazing for the price

Came here to say Elf! They’re great for beginners. Seeing all the positive comments about Real Techniques makes me want to try them now that I’ve gotten more comfortable using my Elf brushes, but if you’re just starting out and want to learn how to use brushes without spending a ton of money, Elf is a great choice. They also wash and dry really easily, which I think is really important. (TBH I’m not sure if there are any makeup brushes that don’t wash and dry easily, but it is something I like lol.)

Oh, it’s good to know they stack up against the higher-end ones too! Glad you’re having a good experience with them! I think they’re great.

Real techniques has great face brushes. I have duplicates of powder, mini powder and setting brushes because they are very good. Had most for 3-4 years, they still are just as good. I did not like their eyebrushes, however. My eyes are hooded and on the smaller side and their brushes were too big for me. But they may have different sets and different shapes. Maybe there is a set of smaller eyebrushes as well.

Wet n Wild has cheap brushes that are decent. They did not hold up as well as my Real Techniques, but I had some favourites and even bought duplicates of contour and eyeshadow blending brush.

seconding! RT brushes are awesome. Don’t get the sets unless you feel you’ll use them; pick specific brushes that can multi-task.

I second this! They’re an older staple brand so they don’t get as much recognition anymore but the quality is great!

I’ll second Colourpop brushes. Pretty good and pricing doesn’t get much better.

I like Sigma brushes too, though they are a little pricier. I have also been contemplating those BK brushes after seeing so many ads — at bkbeauty.com. I haven’t bought any yet but their concealer brush is calling my name.

        Any specific brush?

I have soooo many but in all honesty, I use… four? lol And most everything “heavy duty,” I do with my Beauty Blender or Artis brush. I look at the remaining 9,000 brushes wondering why I even own them! 😔

        But that tapered concealer brush….

Elf cosmetics, colourpop, real techniques, and morphe brushes. All are good and not very expensive 😊

    Happy holidays to you too!

No problem! Colourpop also has a whole brush set for like $30 I think? The set comes with eye and face brushes in a brush roll to keep them organized :)

I’ve always had good luck with Real Techniques and I like Profusion which I’ve ordered on their site. Morphe and sigma make good brushes as well.

The It Cosmetics Brush Set is 6 pieces and it’s $59 they are great quality and will last you years. The bristles are sewn and glued so they never shed and you won’t have to replace them later.
