I ordered what I thought was a dupe from Amazon and received an actual ‘Jeffree Star’ branded palette. And I gotta be honest, I’m not impressed with the pigment saturation AT ALL. It applies and wears like a cheap duplicate. There’s barely any pigment even with the darkest colors! (this palette was labeled as ‘generic’ on Amazon, but when I received it, was packaged as JS.)

I’m wondering if I got a knock off, or if anyone has had an iffy experience with JS cosmetics in general, specifically the pigment saturation of the palettes! Did I actually receive the ‘real’ JS palette by mistake, or is this a true knock-off with waaaay less saturation? (Which would be expected.)

Didn’t want to support him directly, obviously, and the ‘dupe’ colors matched up really well, so I thought I was buying a knock-off, but now I’m torn between the apparent JS branding on the package, which makes it seem like I got the real thing, and the quality (or lack thereof!) which makes it seem like a knock off with his packaging.

Not sure if I got the dupe or the real thing at this point. If it’s real, the quality for the price SUCKS! If it’s fake, I’d understand a bit better.

Please share your experiences with his branded makeup, or the knock offs, thanks!

You likely got a knockoff. Amazon is known for counterfeits. I have the pallette. My friend got it and she doesn’t look good in cool tones or certain colors so she gave that one and a few others to me because I wear a lot colors but I also wear a lot of grey and black shadows. I’ve never had an issue with the pigment or getting it to build when I’m using it.

I agree. There is one typo in one of the shade names, so it’s either a knock off or a bad example/mistake. Or maybe it’s just a million years old. Either way- glad I didn’t pay full price because I’m not in love with ANY of the shades.

I have it and thought it was gonna be perfect for me as I love b&w and greys. It is well pigmented but the name is no joke, they all have a weird cast to them and are more bone and ash than whites. They make me look sickly, and I usually only wear greys and multichrome. However the pigmentation was there. I’ve only used it a few times and let another friend borrow it too and it just makes us all look like death, and that’s literally the palette and not the fact that I too hate the guy. They all have very unflattering tinges of color in there.

I would recommend the ND Xenon, the colourpop stone cold fox, or the Beautybay Neutrals instead of this one. Unless you really want several shades of ashy and off-white tbh. The cheapest out of these would probably be either beautybay or colourpop depending on your area. Yours is probably a knockoff, but this palette is also quite old already, I got mine from a friend second hand years ago already. So even if you bought it second hand it might not be great anymore. Back then they were great, very pigmented, but eyeshadow formulas have made such a jump in quality that you can get it cheaper elsewhere.
