  • Gift card or off their wish list. And if you really splurge make sure it’s powder product and not clean beauty. An eyeshadow palette can last many years, but many cream products or stuff within sufficient preservatives are trash in just months.

Would suck to spend so much on something they won’t use. So let them pick what they want.

Mascara is the dumbest thing to splurge on, you have to replace them for hygiene reasons within six months tops and drugstore is literally no different at all from high end. Don’t buy that one, it isn’t gonna be worth it.

So, you’re looking for a rainbow palette? JC was discontinued because he was being a terrible person, I don’t remember what exactly he did but it’s definitely permanently discontinued.

Rainbow palettes I can recommend are the following

    • Blend Bunny: this is an indie brand that made several different ones, their formula is great for mattes, way better than Morphe - their shimmers are ok. I’m not sure if JC had shimmers or if they were good tho, they definitely are better than Morphe. Idk what you paid for yours but they’re not super expensive.

    • Budget: Beautybay has a house brand that makes a palette called Brights 2.0 and they go on sale for as little as a tenner. Decent formula, and very cheap for what you get. Comes in different sizes - wait until they are on sale (which is constantly) and grab it then

    • The exact same palette again even though it may be old? Try submitting a request to r/Makeupexchange, maybe someone has one they’d sell to you. Eyeshadow palettes can be sanitized and are perfectly safe to share.

  • I have it and thought it was gonna be perfect for me as I love b&w and greys. It is well pigmented but the name is no joke, they all have a weird cast to them and are more bone and ash than whites. They make me look sickly, and I usually only wear greys and multichrome. However the pigmentation was there. I’ve only used it a few times and let another friend borrow it too and it just makes us all look like death, and that’s literally the palette and not the fact that I too hate the guy. They all have very unflattering tinges of color in there.

I would recommend the ND Xenon, the colourpop stone cold fox, or the Beautybay Neutrals instead of this one. Unless you really want several shades of ashy and off-white tbh. The cheapest out of these would probably be either beautybay or colourpop depending on your area. Yours is probably a knockoff, but this palette is also quite old already, I got mine from a friend second hand years ago already. So even if you bought it second hand it might not be great anymore. Back then they were great, very pigmented, but eyeshadow formulas have made such a jump in quality that you can get it cheaper elsewhere.

  • Beautybay Berries is all pink and a little violet I think? Or red? A whole spectrum. However it’s also the only palette of theirs that had mild staining. Comes in three sizes 9/16/42 colors) and they’re very cheap but good.

They have three different brown palettes in those formats too, Rich (warm golden), Nude (light warm?) and Neutral (cool neutral) as well as at least another 9-pan and they used to do bundles too.

You can grab a nine pan browns and a nine or sixteen pan spectrum of pinks and probably walk outta there cheaper than your Too Faced palette would be.

The palest foundation I’m aware of that’s not at all red or pink toned is the KVD Good Apple Serum in 002. Its basically the color of milk and even lighter than their previous, very pink toned Tattoo foundation. Its lighter than Fenty and absolutely anything in Sephora.

If that’s too light, Fenty, Hourglass, Max Factor Face finity (lower coverage, so you get away with it being slightly darker, drugstore price), Nars, or Pat McGrath Labs.

Maybelline makes light concealers if you don’t wanna pay midrange prices for that.
