I’m 75% gang, but recently I’ve been looking at the 60% ones and how perfectly short they are, and the looks but I never got one since I might not be able to live without dedicated arrow keys. Then I though, what if I “fuse” 60% and 75%? I decided to use my paint skills so I can picture that. I doubt I’m the first on thinking about something like this. The right cmd or right ctrl could be Fn or something else.
Note: A 67.5% maybe? if we chopped the the Fs row.

The WK Allison sort of has something nearish to this layout - the bottom right cluster on that keyboard can be used as a symmetric oversized arrow cluster.

I guess this works if you never use right shift. Personally, I’d rather just a normal 65 or 75.

The only reason I really hate 60% is that it’s esc and backtick shares the same key. It’s really an annoying design. I don’t use F keys, but often use these two keys

I just bought the Mode Envoy and I haven’t built it yet because I’m still not sure if I can live without a dedicated backtick/tilde button. The rest of the F row I could frankly do away with instantly. As a programmer though, I frequently need the backticks and I like being able to smash ESC. I know there’s the split backspace layout but I feel like if there’s one key that needs to be a bit bigger, it’s backspace.

There was a board like this last year called the Sperno69, which was basically this without a F row.

I wouldn’t be able to type on this, nor would anyone else that touchtypes using the home row, as you need a right shift. You use the opposite shift to the hand you are typing with, and you’ve spent years perfecting your muscle memory for this, so it’s will be a nightmare, and some letter would just drive you mad. You type Q with your left pinky, so typing capital Q would be almost impossible unless you basically retrained to type just for this keyboard.
