I’m a complete beginner when it comes to eye makeup (despite being in my 30s). Although teenage me wore garish and awfully applied eyeshadow, nowadays I just use mascara and a bold lipstick. I’d like to get an eyeshadow palette that I can experiment with for parties, but I just don’t know where to start. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Key information about me:

  • Warm skin tones, somewhat pale, blue eyes and light red hair (golds, oranges and browns tends to look best on me, but pinks and some greens and purples also work well)
  • Sensitive skin, especially around my eyes, so I’m wary of going for the cheapest option
  • I want to have fun with this; I like the idea of bold colours rather than a pale taupe or brown that’s just a smidgeon darker than my natural skin colour
  • Based in the EU, so I have access to Sephora and major brands but not all the US ones

    I recommend physician’s formula, great brand for sensitive skin and if you like neutrals/nudes. It’s a drugstore brand, you can find it at ulta or walmart/target. For foundation, I highly recommend the almay clear complexion foundation (also drugstore). Make sure you match it to your neck, not your face or hand
