Hello! I have very oily skin and bad acne, for context. I take care of my acne as best I can, but it is unfortunately hormonal/genetic. Even on the good days, though, after a few hours, my foundation (Maybelline FitMe Matte, or Nars Sheer Glow, or Sunset Makeup) ends up pulling apart and kinda letting the oil seep through, if that makes sense. I use moisturizer and primer, so I’m thinking that might be the issue? Along with the oil, it’s too much for the foundation to hold? But idk! Any oily folks, please help!!!

I had horrendous acne as a teenager and still get the odd break out and my skin tends to be oily. The first thing you need to do is change your moisturiser to one which is specially made for oily skin. I find gel formulas the best. I use moisture surge by Clinique but there are cheaper products which have a similar formula. Both Nivea and Simple are good. I would also skip the primer, even the ones that are supposed to help blur your pores. Then you need a light foundation and you already mentioned you use Maybelline products. I find their dream satin liquid foundation to have the best coverage without blocking your pores. Their concealer is excellent too. When I was younger I thought thick powder was what I needed but actually a light dusting of loose powder applied with a big fluffy brush works best. Finally you need some of those little blotting papers, Amazon sell 600 for £4.99. If you find your skin becoming greasy during the day instead of using more powder dab your face with one of these first. Hope you get sorted.
