I have been collecting some old vintage digital watches like Casio C-801, Seiko UC-3000, … and was wondering, besides the fun of wearing them and the good looks, if they are a good investment? Because over time their circuits get corroded, their LCD fades/ burns, battery runs out, … And to my knowledge, some problems are unfixable. This in comparison with a analog/ mechanical watch which stay fixable over time.

What are some tips to preserve them?

I’d say ‘no’ for the exact reasons you mention.

Maybe there’ll be replacement modules in the future for some special models, but then the watch wouldn’t be 100% authentic anymore anyway and their value remains in the looks and novelty, but not as a piece of horological history.
