That’s funny I had a similar experience with an ETA 7001 I own. Was running +-4, then +30 (not magnetized), banged it and now +5-10. Should I bang it again? michael Scott TWSS

Nice collection. Yeah good luck stopping I’m in same boat I’ve told myself I’m done and it’s been over a year so maybe I did it?
Everything you need here, great brand diversity, unique to you and no pure hype chasing. Big fan OP
Stop even responding to the size police. As I’ve linked it’s a combination optical illusion, borderline lug to lug, and a WHOLE LOT OF FUCKING JEALOUSY AND COPIUM. It’s a dope watch don’t let randoms take 0.1% of the joy you’re getting from it
Lovely watch mate. I’m personally done adding (once my bel canto arrives this month-ish) with mechanicals and keep it to a 9-10 max for the collection. I’m starting to gravitate towards these “grail” / OUT THERE types (Freak X, Breguet Tradition 70xx, other “special” reversos) for an “exit” watch… because I don’t really want to replace anything in my collection but don’t want to grow without significance.
Anyway ignore the size haters - watch is fine and in a mirror would look normal. Plus fuck let people notice that shit (even though we know no one cares but us). Envious to have found something that special and meaningful…. I’m not gonna rush it I hope something speaks to me between now and turning 50 (I’m 41 ha)
Cheers
Decide which of these watches you like the most. They’re all very easy to try on (if you live near a big city) and pick your favorite. They’re 4 completely different watches. Almost as different as can be. Comically so
I ordered this way too quickly considering the price and my past experience with a 17.09 but 8.8g seems really amazing
That was my suggestion too. My favorite brand in the ~1k range with a massive catalogue of all kinds of watches. Many homages (like C63 seamaster GMT) but some unique ones like their Big Moon and Bel Canto. The newish Dune collection is awesome. You probably don’t need a XII since you have PRX. But hard to not find a watch you like and the price to quality ratio is the best of any brand I own (only better bang for buck I’ve seen in the $1k+ range is Horage but they’re too expensive for this post and too small a brand for most)
Christopher Ward?
Well said. The “buying things is not a hobby” crowd is so boring. Bc of course it isn’t. They say it like it’s some counterpoint-brilliant-eureka concept. Meanwhile just like the OP stated, I learned and got into watches in 2020 and now even went as far as creating a little work station to unassemble (and attempt to reassemble) cheap watches I own. Connecting to people with a shared interest, learning about it, potentially learning a craft, AND collecting/buying definitely makes it a hobby.
They’re conflating the rich guy who buys status jewelry with no actual interest in horology with people that can genuinely claim it as a hobby. (And, again back to OP, my passion for it has diminished a bit from its peak)

Be aware 33mm here. I believe the “Damen” line tend to be colorful, cheaper and smaller
What else do you know about 2923? Am I still alive at age 941? What’s Mars like? And who wins the Super Bowl 2024 please?
I’m a doctor. Be careful summarizing a complex disease so broadly. There are different types of pancreatic cancer (adenocarcinoma vs neuroendocrine would be one distinction). Then there are anatomic considerations (head, body, tail), staging, and many biomarkers / genetic profile of the tumor itself that affect prognosis. No doubt there are some very bad panc CA cases and stories but there are good ones out there too.
To the OP, I’m thinking about you and sending positivity and thoughts and vibes and love.
I had the exact opposite experience. Was ready to buy it too. Lugs sat really high on my small wrist and did not enjoy fit. Too bad bc I really liked it otherwise.
Yeah one of my bear buddies was gifted an IWC portugeiser for 40th which he had identified as a want but knows Jack shit about watches

Heuer CS3111 - exact case and look of the 1963 original but rereleased 1996. If your Carrera doesn’t have the word “Tag” on it, chances are it kicks ass. That being said the new Carrera glassbox watches are fantastic.
