  • Certina ds action diver 38mm maybe? Clean and simple while also coming from a reputable brand. Also has lots of cool features like a diver’s extension and ISO certification and has 300m of water resistance. Hamilton is also worth considering and there are lots of great microbrands for around that price too like Baltic, traska, lorier among others.

  • I’ve had an Srpg27 for about 8 months and honestly it’s been pretty accurate so far. The last time I’ve set the time was a bit over 2 weeks ago and I’m ahead by 2-3 minutes right now (+10s/day). This of course might be different to someone else’s, especially considering that I had to re-regulate the watch a few months after I got it since it was running fast. For the price it’s a really good movement that isn’t scared to take a beating.

  • My first watch was a similar looking srpg27 which I spent hours researching. I thought the sunburst blue dial looked cleaner and was more versatile but now I’m regretting not going for the sandblasted one… Anyways, great watch with lots of versatility! As for upkeep, be careful with the bezel and crown as that’s what scratches the most for me. Also follow general automatic watch rules like not setting the date at 9pm - 3am and avoid magnetic fields.

  • Sinn watches are built for purpose and are real tool watches with function being more important than design. They’re not meant to be a fashion luxury watch but instead are targeted at professionals for specific uses. The super durable nature, great movement, and attractive price from this well known German brand is what makes it appealing to a lot of people. I totally get what you mean when people say that it looks too simple (honestly I’m no different) but it makes a lot of sense for a piece of this nature.
