Local watch dealer sent me this photo. Unfortunately it’s the only angle he sent. I’ve learned to trust him over time but this kind of made me a little suspicious. The cyclops magnification seems weak. What do you think?
Big fake.
What’s the chance the guy making this post is “the local dealer” testing the waters on his newest counterfeit?
I’m literally the one saying the cyclops magnification isn’t right lmao.
Faky faky
Report this asshole dealer
Definitely fake. The magnification and font are really wrong.
Hands look fake as well.
This- it seems a lot of fakes can’t get the magnification right
Unfortunately fake:
- The cyclops date magnification is not the 2.5x that Rolex uses (under 2.5x cyclops magnification the date window is quite a bit larger).
- I can’t be certain from this angle, but those crownguards do not look like Rolex crownguards but more like fake Submariner crownguards.
Other than that, it’s pretty good for a fake, because the differences are mostly subtle. Compare to this listing and this listing, or Rolex’ own site.
Thanks - the cyclops just didn’t feel right. It’s really weird because he’s a reputable guy and I wonder if he himself doesn’t know.
Fake
For what it’s worth, there are a number of gen examples with similar date magnifications. That alone is not reason to believe this is fake. But combined with the other faults, it clearly is.
