As a makeup artist - girl, what?
Mix the double wear with a little bit of primer to sheer it out. I used to do this all the time for bridal clients. Alternately, use the tiniest little bit of it and apply lightly with a wet beauty blender. Use a touch more where you need concealer.
The great thing about full coverage foundations is that they can be manipulated to be very very sheer when needed.
I also have rosacea, and I used to work as a makeup artist.
If you like liquid foundation, I would try Estee Lauder Double wear. It’s very versatile and can be sheered out or built up to a very full coverage. They have a fantastic shade range. This is a matte foundation, so if you have dry skin, you’ll want to be mindful of your skin prep.
If you prefer a CC cream, It Cosmetics CC is great because they have formulas for dry, regular, and oily skin. Their powder foundation is also great if you like a powder foundation. It Cosmetics was made for rosacea skin, by a woman with rosacea. The downside is that the shade range is very limited.
I also really like the Makeup Forever Reboot foundation. It starts off sheer, but it is buildable to a medium full coverage. Unless I’m flaring up purple, it covers my redness. It has a really lovely skin finish, especially for dry skin.
