Definitely don’t buy her makeup like foundation if you don’t know her shade. Also mascara would be a waste of money since it only lasts 3 months. A gift card from either Sephora or Ulta would let her pick out what she wants. Also ideas for presents would be a nice cosmetics bag. A warm cozy fleece blanket in her favorite color would also be a good idea. Definitely not clothing because you might get the size wrong.
You basically just need a natural look. A dark brown eyeliner and tan highlighter with a brown-black mascara will play up your eyes. Go more subtle on lips and blush (rose-mauve). With foundation, make sure you use a creamy foundation since it won’t accentuate fine lines and wrinkles. It Cosmetics is sold at Sephora and Ulta. It’s CC foundation has SPF already in it and makes you look more youthful. Bare Minerals also has a foundation with SPF. YouTube videos will help you out. I’m like you, I hate crowds especially during the holidays. The pushy sales people are a pain to put it nicely.

A navy blue will bring out her eyes being the opposite color on the color wheel. I agree with the rest, you can’t beat Natasha Denona’s eyeshadows.

I looked up products online at Ulta. They have a ton of sales on basically every brand of makeup from Too Faced, It Cosmetics, Urban Decay, Tarte , etc. Also the cheaper brands (Wet and Wild, NYX, R.E.M, Physician’s Formula. are on sale as well. Ulta’s own brand of lip balms (orginally $2.99) are now $0.99. Body moisturizers like First Aid Beauty are now half off ($25, originally $50. You should find some good sales and your wallet will appreciate it. I did this research for both of us since I also love Ulta but I like Sephora as well. Sephora has Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Balms for $10. HSN has crazy deals AND flex payments on brands like Benefit and Too Faced. OVC has a lot of good sales, also flex pay, on brands like Bare Minerals, Tarte, It Cosmetics, Too Faced, Doll 10 and Laura Geller. Hope this information helps you out.

I’m exactly the same. Pink makeup always makes me look like Rudolph. I also have to wear neutral makeup even though I’m a neutral-cool (soft summer).

Some lip balms can be a pain in the butt. Kaja’s (brand) Heart Melter Moisture Melt Lipgloss Stick is sold at Sephora. Very hydrating. I also love It Cosmetics Je Ne Sais Quoi lip products. Not sticky like other brands. Sold at Amazon. Tarte’s Maracuja Juicy Lip Creme sold at Sephora. I wear Mauve for my fair skin.
Stila’s All Day Long waterproof liquid eyeliner is the bomb. Lasts all day. It’s pricey but worth it.
BARE MINERALS ALL DAY LONG. Nothing beats it. It’s extremely natural and you feel like you don’t have any makeup on. Plus it has SPF15 . I use the matte loose foundation for my oily skin. People with dry or normal skin go with the original foundation. It gives you great coverage. Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Gem loose powder gets my silver award. Very natural.
You don’t need foundation. Consider yourself lucky. Wearing a lot of foundation can only age you in the long run.
For brushes, It Cosmetics,hands down, has the BEST for blush brush. It’s made a certain way so when you apply it, it goes on extremely natural and does the work for you. For regular eyeliner I use Urban Decay 24/7 Glide and Stila’s All Day Long waterproof eyeliner. I like to use Laura Geller’s Spackle for face primer. She also makes a eye primer to keep your eyeshadow put. If you have oily skin, I love Bare Mineral’s Illuminating Mineral Veil. Gives you a glow, not tacky glitter like others, and controls oil.♥️♥️ LOVE this product.

I second Laura Geller. I love watching her on QVC. Balance and Brighten and Spackle are my favorite products. I was wondering if her eyeliners were any good.
I hate glittery shades. Oranges and golds are my no no. It looks really fake on me. I don’t like the burgundy shades. I prefer matte shades that are lilac, mauve, light tans, dark browns. I prefer a more natural look.
