Coming from a gold eyeshadow fiend - I have way too many - here are a couple of easy looks, all of which I’d consider daytime and work appropriate:
- black or brown kajal pencil smudged all around the eye, then the gold shadow applied over it and across the whole lid, blended out. Tightline, if you want (my eyes can’t handle it), finish with mascara.
- gold shadow applied thickly on the lid, blended into a light matte shadow in the crease. Colour options for the crease (depending on your preference and of course the undertone of the gold): ochre, caramel, light brown, brownish pink, burnt orange. No liner, finish with mascara of your colour preference (brown, black, maybe burgundy)
- a wash of gold all over the eye and blended out well, then liquid or pencil liner. Colour options: black, brown, blue, dark red or burgundy. Adjust the colour and shape/thickness of your eyeliner according to your preferences and needs, and ofc the shape of the eye. Finish with mascara.
- black or brown cream or stick eyeshadow over the lid and blended into the crease. Set the lid with the gold shadow to prevent creasing and provide a highlight. Finish with mascara.
I also use straight up gold to highlight my inner corners whenever I do a dramatic warm smokey eye, but that’s not exactly a day-to-day thing.
From a serial lip biter - the only thing that stops me is wearing actual lipstick, bc then I don’t want to mess it up. Take her to a store and tell her to pick out a really beautiful lipstick within your budget. Bullet mattes and liquids are the best for this imo.
