Came into the company outside hire as a Store Manager 6 months back (unaware at the time how bad the company is doing), chasing a career to hopefully District and Regional positions. Post store layoffs I’m now considering quitting the company due to potentially it going underwater. I get loyalty but that doesn’t get you anywhere in this day and age. Any opinions on whether staying or leaving to pursue promotions elsewhere?
I saw a store manager work at vans for 14 years and never get promoted to DM. Hardest working most amazing boss I’ve ever had. Once I saw that I learned that store manager is the end of the road over there. I became a store manager eventually and realized like…yeah… you’re stuck there forever no matter how hard to go into it.
