Came into the company outside hire as a Store Manager 6 months back (unaware at the time how bad the company is doing), chasing a career to hopefully District and Regional positions. Post store layoffs I’m now considering quitting the company due to potentially it going underwater. I get loyalty but that doesn’t get you anywhere in this day and age. Any opinions on whether staying or leaving to pursue promotions elsewhere?
That’s exactly the same situation that reached my breaking point, I ended up leaving as well literally turning my notice in the day after I posted this. Although my DM was pretty solid in my opinion. I just also didn’t see a 5 or 10 year plan where I can progress within the company let alone, I was only earning $33.25/hour as a SM. You can make more than that in big box store middle management along with bigger bonuses.
