Hello! I (45M) overhead my fiance (37F) commenting that she needed new makeup brushes while she was getting ready for our date and facetiming with her friend. I tried to do some research on what might make a good gift and holy cow am I overwhelmed. The variety and price points seem endless. Do I need to spend a lot? Should I buy a set or will a few “good” ones do? She gets pretty creative with her makeup, so I know she takes it seriously and I have no idea what I’m doing. Please help.

What a thoughtful gesture! If you’re not sure what kind of brushes she likes, it’s probably better to get her a gift certificate to somewhere like Ulta or Sephora and encourage her to pick out some brushes she likes. Makeup brushes are tools, like wrenches or screwdrivers. It’s hard to know what wrenches someone needs if you don’t know what they’ve got already and what kind of work they’re doing.
Go to any Macy’s make up counter or Sephora and ask for help
