Mine have to be Tarte and Elf

Tarte just didn’t work out for me I used to love Elf, but recently it’s just not been that great.

I think what we’ve learned here today is that there are so many different skin types, textures, and shades. Every brand is not for every body/face!

How do you mean? I’ve never felt that I was lied to by a brand. I just figure that the product isn’t for me and my particular wants or needs.

What I mean is if an influencer says they love a product it’s hard to outright call them a liar(unless they are not disclosing ads) because everyone is different so it’s easy to say your skin, etc. is different that’s why it doesn’t work for you even if it’s a shit product

How so? I understand that brands lie…greenwashing, cruelty-free claims, etc…but I’ve personally never bought a makeup product and thought, “man…this doesn’t do what they said it would”.

I also get a bit obsessive and read/watch lots of reviews about a product I’m going to buy. Especially when it’s an expensive product.

It’s fun to get to rant about products sometimes, instead of always raving about favorites. But any time I hear anyone pushing their favorite product on someone I’m all about sharing the dupes and encouraging the person being talked at that they don’t need to love or want or even mildly like a product someone else may think is the absolute best and their HG. So often I find when people rave like that, it’s a product that’s not sustainable for the average person’s income. It might be their continuous splurge but that doesn’t mean everyone should.

One of the best things about makeup and skincare is getting to try out different products to find the ones you love and work best for you. There’s so much out there, it can definitely be daunting but also so much fun!!
