I put on makeup at my antique vanity in our closet (which is really just a small bedroom). The vanity is a bit small, so I have a shelf above it that holds my eyeshadow palettes. I have a small round mirror that sits on the vanity, and two standing lamps with flexible lamp heads on either side for lighting…the lamp situation isn’t the best, but it does the trick until I can figure out a better solution.

I really like Kaja Juicy Glass lip oil.

How so? I understand that brands lie…greenwashing, cruelty-free claims, etc…but I’ve personally never bought a makeup product and thought, “man…this doesn’t do what they said it would”.

I also get a bit obsessive and read/watch lots of reviews about a product I’m going to buy. Especially when it’s an expensive product.

I’m 35 and just started wearing foundation again. I like how it evens out my skin tone and makes blush pop on my face. It also covers up my freckles. My freckles don’t look like fake freckles…they look like splotches. Although I love the fake freckle look people are doing. Crazy that I used to get bullied and picked on for having them…

I think they were selling last season’s holiday palette. I kicked myself for getting it on sale at Sephora for $60. It’s a good palette, though. I love the color story.

How do you mean? I’ve never felt that I was lied to by a brand. I just figure that the product isn’t for me and my particular wants or needs.

I think what we’ve learned here today is that there are so many different skin types, textures, and shades. Every brand is not for every body/face!

Burt’s Bees ultra conditioning balm. It’s so smooth and hydrating.

Go for a longwear non transfer lipstick. I use Maybelline Vinyl Ink and that stuff really stays puts. Minimal transfer when eating and drinking. Plus it fades in a nice way when it does start coming off. The only downside is that it stays a bit tacky, but not enough for me to be put off.
