Probably a pale person specific thing but when swatches and packaging and everything matches when a base product is freshly put on, not it’s color once it oxidizes. I’ve bought too many foundations and concealers that I matched correctly if it just didn’t oxidize! Then suddenly it’s orange. I usually use online swatches when choosing a shade, and it’s impossible to know which products will noticeably oxidize and which won’t. So I wish they just did more accurate swatches in that way
Finding pale foundation is so difficult! The best I’ve found is Fenty, they’ve got the palest ime. In the summer when I tan a little bit I can just about get away with the palest Dior but in winter its back to Fenty as the Dior is too dark.
Until Fenty came out there was no foundation pale enough for me, it was ridiculous.
The best for my pale skin in Morphe Hint Hint Skin Tint. Most foundations marketed as being for fair skin are too warm toned for me including the Fenty ones.

Oh cool, sounds interesting. I’ve never tried Tarte before.

I honestly don’t like Morphe make up at all, but thank you for the suggestion.
