I’ll put it nicely. They are a bunch of old bollocks.
They are usually sheer, so capable of matching a wider variety of tones without looking too terrible and usually are light to medium to fit a wide amount of people (although still not a perfect match). They have encapsulated colour pigments that release as they are warmed so they usually get more orange as the day goes on. They’ve been around for decades and the technology hasn’t changed, even when touted as anew amazing product.
If you fit the light-medium orange/warm spectrum you might get on with them. Otherwise get a product that actually matches.
