Hi y’all, I am not sure if I’m just overwhelmed with the amount of makeup I have or if I’m just not comfortable doing it at my vanity anymore? Do you guys do yours in the bathroom? Carry a bag through out the house? Do you have a lot of makeup in one spot? Do you bring your stuff to work and do it when you get there?

I guess I’m asking what works best for you?

I do it in the bathroom where I keep most of my collection.

Something that has helped me a lot is to store my palettes vertically like books. I also have lipstick organisers for my lipsticks and have them arranged in a gradient.

My collection is big but not enormous. If I had a vanity with drawers, I would be very comfortable, but I don’t have the space for it. What I plan to do is to find an organiser with drawers, store there smaller products and have the palettes in a box stored vertically. I just haven’t found the perfect one yet.

Moist and humid environments like the bathroom - especially if it’s one you’re taking showers in can promote bacteria and mold growth on your makeup and brushes that can be undetectable to the eye. It’s better to store your makeup in a cool, dark environment without as much moisture. Wait or skip to the last result in this vid - and that brush isn’t stored in a bathroom 😫 his other cosmetics that he tested he actually sanitizes often, but if he didn’t and they weren’t stored correctly I’d imagine there’d be more mold.

I live in South Texas where there is no such thing as a cool, dark environment. I’ve always had this issue with storing things, particularly medications.

Obligatory if you’re unable to take the makeup out of the bathroom, please use any cabinets or boxes possible. Even just throwing your towel over the products while you shower will help prevent molds and bacterias. If you’ve never gotten sick before, please just consider keeping it that way to the best of your ability. Semi related, toothbrushes left open on the counter will always ick me after my friend became ill when their friend used the bathroom when they had a “small stomach bug”

Something that has helped me with palette (and makeup in general) storage is instead of getting these boring clear makeup dividers to hold it in, I actually have gotten stationary organizers. They have quite a few drawers as well as slots to put your palettes in and little cup areas to hold things like eyeliner, mascara, etc. and it’s not boring lol bc they come in all sorts of shapes and colors and sizes!
