Black smokey eye with eye gloss on top. The more it creases, the better. Even better if you pair it with a thick mascara for a spider lash effect.

If i didn’t have tons of neutral eyeshadows already I would buy the Petites Matted Neutral by Viseart. It has a black and it’s a very matte neutral palette. The mini version costs around 40 USD and they also have a bigger version that costs around 80 USD. The difference is just in the grams, the number of shades is the same so I would personally go for the mini.

I haven’t tried the brand but I hear great things about it coming from real MUAs, makeup youtubers and normal people. I have always wanted this palette but I haven’t bought it because I already have a lot of matte neutrals and I usually spend money in more sparkly, exciting palettes. But it really looks like a great staple for someone to have in their collection.

Another palette I would recommend is the Too Faced Born This Way neutral palette which has both mattes and shimmers. I have this one and really enjoy it. The only bad thing is that it doesn’t have a black shade.

My all time favourite highlighter is MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle. It’s great because it doesn’t have a base that creates a dark cast in different angles like other highlighters do. Depending on your skintone you might need a different shade. But I would recommend that you see them in store and swatch them because I also have a different shade named Lightscapade and I don’t like it that much. The finish is different and it’s also whiter. I have gone through Soft and Gentle 3 times even though it lasts about a year with everyday use and I keep buying it.

YES!!! I hate most gold and yellow-bronze shades too! I have tons of then because every other palette has one and rarely use them. Bronzes make me look ill and golds feel very flashy and going out type of makeup. But when I’m going out at night I prefer either a deep smokey in jewel tones or a dark lip. So I never wear true golds and try to avoid them. Same for oranges especially shimmers.

On the other hand I enjoy cool toned golds, shades that are something between gold and silver. I love champagne shimmers, mauve neutrals and cool taupes in both matte and shimmer formulas. I always appreciate a matte cream or a very pigmented black in a palette. And I look for pale pink shimmers because I don’t have many and I really like them on the inner part of my lid.

Setting spray. I just find that it makes my face sticky and my base more slippery. I have used different variations of MAC Fix+ and some Smashbox setting spray and I didn’t enjoy any of them.

I do it in the bathroom where I keep most of my collection.

Something that has helped me a lot is to store my palettes vertically like books. I also have lipstick organisers for my lipsticks and have them arranged in a gradient.

My collection is big but not enormous. If I had a vanity with drawers, I would be very comfortable, but I don’t have the space for it. What I plan to do is to find an organiser with drawers, store there smaller products and have the palettes in a box stored vertically. I just haven’t found the perfect one yet.

Colour in real life is not the same as it is in digital form. Colour depends on lighting in real life. To find the code of the colour you would have to photograph it. You would need to have standardized rules for the photography of lipsticks that all brands would have to use for all this to actually work (camera settings, background, lighting etc.). Shine and texture influence colour so that is another problem. Pigmentation and opacity of products also influences how they look on different skins and natural lip colours. I don’t think it’s worth it tbh. It also takes out some of the fun.
