So I am starting work at a Vans (I won’t say where due to reasons you will tell towards the end) but are you required to wear vans t-shirts no exceptions? I know you get free shirts and free shoes however I’m wondering if I am required to wear the shirts as I cannot find a design I like at the moment that fits in any right way.

In my store it is 100% required, some are a lil bit more lax but I still would say you’ve gotta stick to any skate brands that are within reason close to Vans. It depends on your manager though. My old manager was a stickler for rules and made another associate buy a shirt when they didn’t come in with one.

I let my staff wear plain shirts with no visible competitors logos. My dm did a surprise visit one of the days and absolutely rinsed me for it tho. Rule book says no but just ask your SM how they feel about it. I had associates who literally couldn’t wear our clothes because they didn’t make them big enough so they had to wear plain shirts everyday.

So I had a separate issue that led to the same problem, and you can wear plain solid color t shirts. I added some flair by finding some vans patches on eBay

Another UK Vans employee here! We’re required to wear a Vans shirt and Vans shoes with bottoms without very visible logos on. If you can’t find any designs you like, just go casual with a left chest logo or a classic logo tee :) In my district we’re not allowed to wear plain shirts, it HAS to be vans although it does depend on where you are

I’ve worn solid colored and striped t-shirts without brand names and haven’t gotten in trouble before

I think the only thing you can wear is a plain colored t shirt with nothing on it no patches embroidered etc if you don’t wear vans t shirts

It can be more relaxed depending on what store you’re at, just observe the other employees and go from there. If you do wear a non vans shirt just make sure it’s not another opposing brand, for example Nike

UK employee here, we are required to wear Vans shirts from the classics or current season. Trousers can be any brand as long as there’s no visible branding, but shirts must be Vans.

Vans AU here, Vans shoes (that we currently have in stock) and either plain/unbranded shirts or Vans tees (doesn’t matter if it’s in season). I predominantly wear Vans pants to work but cycle through a lot of plain tops as I’m there full-time and don’t want to feel like a NPC lmao
