From all the pairs I’ve sold, people have mostly been buying their usual size with a small percentage buying a size up.

UK employee here, we are required to wear Vans shirts from the classics or current season. Trousers can be any brand as long as there’s no visible branding, but shirts must be Vans.
Not the flashiest, but Skate Sk8-Lows have seemingly been discontinued in the UK for the last few years, and I managed to find a single pair sat in the UK warehouse by trawling a list of old product codes, that we’re miraculously my size.
People generally tend to buy their actual size when they try Pro Slates at my store, if anything the few who deviate from their normal fit tend to go half a size up.
It really sucks that this has happened to your pair, but I’ve been working in Vans stores for 2 years now and I haven’t noticed a decrease in production quality or an increase in returns for product faults for the Pride collection of either year.
Customs are explicitly not eligible for returns in the returns policy of the UK, US and EU with the exception of being faulty. Stores or CS reps offering returns are doing it entirely at their own discretion.
Whatever colour you like best.
Whatever the price is on your regional Vans website.
