Bought a new pair of old skools recently. Super comfy but walking any distance gives me heel blisters. I’ve heard this from other people who have them as well. How do you cope? I don’t want to return them because they’re so comfortable otherwise

Bandaids on the backs of your heels under your socks until the shoes break in. Old skools always rub my heel before they’re broken in

I use waterproof first aid tape. Like the kind you tape your fingers together with when you have a sprain.

Breaking in shoes is the worst 😡 I always used to use the band aid brand friction stick. Another tip is putting on like 2 pairs of thick socks and squeezing your foot into the shoe… blow dry em so they get nice and warm. And then just wear them around the house until they cool off and it helps stretch the shoe a bit. I feel like all styles of vans wreck my heels until I can break em in

Get the stick on heel cushions and you’ll never look back! I’m def wearing the right size but so many shoes slice up my heels and these sticky cushions have been a game changer

I have almost too many shoes to alternate, so this happened to me a lot. I simply can’t wear them enough to break them in. However, I found a solution in the last year that saved my poor raw ankles! 😂

All you have to do is find a pair of pliers (doesn’t matter what kind), and gently grip the heel portion of the shoe and press and wiggle around in any direction for a few minutes. Don’t go crazy! Just move around in slow and short movements lol but just any kind of forced movement back there without your heel actually in it will help! I will start in the very center back and then do a few rounds a little over to the left, then repeat to the right of center.

I was pleasantly surprised and was able to wear shoes that I was sure I wouldn’t be able to wear more than once because they just tore me up. They just come too stiff out of the box sometimes.

I hope this works for you! Having to buy band-aids over and over is not a great long-term solution, so I hope this helps!
