Since I was young, before any lines started forming, my lipstick would always spread out. I’d say bleed, but it was (and is) everywhere, not creeping into lines. I’ve never found a lip-liner that made any difference at all. Am I just not spending enough? Am i the only one with this problem?

this may not be the answer you’re looking for, but blurred gradient lips are quite popular. (especially in east asia.) people apply concealer to cover their natural lip line. that kind of lip makeup might suit you? :)

I don’t want to say you’re not spending enough, but it is possible you just haven’t found the right products yet.

The best hold I’ve found in a liner is CT lip cheat, but wet n wild perfect pout gel liner does shockingly well and it’s only $4! Also colour pop lippie stix primer is great for a full base and it’s like $8.

What kind of lipstick are you wearing? Shinier, sheer, or satin formulas sre always going to slip more. Matte products are more likely to stay put.

I have come color stay matte stuff but haven’t experimented with it much. In my younger days I used the early version of that and it def worked. It was like paint :)

And you definitely caught me. My go to stuff is sheer.

Try a lip primer before lipstick! I don’t use them all the time but I find that the MAC prep and prime one works well to blur your lip lines before lipstick, plus it’s nourishing on the lips without being too balmy or overly moisturizing, it’s so good and perfect to use before lip product. Colourpop makes an affordable one that I haven’t tried but as someone with fucked up lip lines from acne scarring and very dry lips, I love lip primers when I need some extra love before lipstick and lip liner!
