  • In my opinion that’s… a good thing? You’re mostly describing your base, which you want to look like skin! But if you’re wanting more dimension in the finished product, maybe play around with your blush application or try a different shade. You could also add a dab of highlight here and there.

My bet would be any comments about it “not looking like you’re wearing any makeup” are primarily about your eye makeup. If you’re happy with what you do now, stick with it! That’s what matters most. But if you wanted, experiment with more dramatic eye looks.

    Or add a bold lip!

  • I don’t want to say you’re not spending enough, but it is possible you just haven’t found the right products yet.

The best hold I’ve found in a liner is CT lip cheat, but wet n wild perfect pout gel liner does shockingly well and it’s only $4! Also colour pop lippie stix primer is great for a full base and it’s like $8.

What kind of lipstick are you wearing? Shinier, sheer, or satin formulas sre always going to slip more. Matte products are more likely to stay put.

  • I find traditional lipstick way easier to maintain than tinted balms and glosses, those are so slippy they migrate everywhere!

Use a liner so your edges don’t bleed. Maybe even use a lip primer, colourpop makes a good one for cheap. Apply with a brush; you may get too much product straight from the bullet. When you’re done applying, stick a finger in your mouth like a straw and drag it out to remove the product too far beyond your inner lip, where it’s wet. That’ll keep it off your teeth.

If you’re eating something greasy or messy, you may want to preemptively wipe off some of your lippie. And yeah, you’ll need to reapply after you eat, but it’s not hard. Your line will probably have survived, so you’re just filling the center back in.
