So I’m 31F and I’ve kinda venturing out of Mary Kay even tho their foundation, primer and concealer work for me…

( ivory N 140 for foundation and my concealer is deep ivory)

( I have dry skin and have a skincare routine)

But I want to learn to contour … and learn a bit more with other things

So I went to ultra and sephora and the ultra employee lead me to fenty eaze drop tint … and I liked it at the store but haven’t tried that because I’m used to foundation… so I went to Sephora and got the fenty foundation and tried it today and it was drying on my face and starting to be patchy and itchy and came off my face so easily, so I guess I’m going to be returning both the eaze drop and foundation… because the eaze drop will probably do the same. Probably should return the contour stick too.

I want a every day foundation and some thing that looks natural

And I’m not sure about shades for contouring…

I want to try other foundations but I don’t know which would be best for dry skin and not look patchy or crease on my skin… and cover up my redness and pores

I looked on Reddit and it looks like a lot of people hate Mary Kay because of MLM but… it’s the only foundation, concealer, and primer that has worked for me…

So if anyone has suggestions or advice that’d be great!

Or maybe I’ll just stick to what I have with Mary Kay

I also do a Korean skincare routine and love that… so ye… I’m just looking for advice or suggestions… on what I should do…

Thank you!

Have you checked whether your primer was compatible with the Fenty stuff? What you described kind of sounds like you may have mixed water based and silicone based products

Have you ever tried a tinted moisturizer or cc cream? They might be a good way to branch out since they’re great for dry skin

I have dry skin and fenty foundation doesn’t work for me, I haven’t tried the tint. But, I came here to say that if you want natural foundation that hydrates and just looks like beautiful, healthy skin, you should definitely try new Mac studio radiance serum foundation! I love it and get the most compliments on my skin when I wear it ❤️

I recommend following a beauty content creator on you tube, particularly one with a similar complexion & skin type as you. (I watch Jen Phelps as well as a few others). You will find no end of recommendations for foundation.

Try the Eaze Drop before you return it. I’m not saying keep it but try it first. The Fenty Foundation IS drying for people who aren’t oily. I work in makeup and I’ve seen it. The Eaze drop is a totally different texture and is slightly hydrating. Just give it a shot.

If the eaze drop doesn’t work do you have any recommendations to the hydrating foundation or tints?

I thought about maybe bb creams?

      Any primer recommendations too?

      Thank you!

Purlisse ageless Glow serum and nikkia joy finishing powder. If this doesn’t work for you, I’ll buy it off you. That’s how sure I am you’ll be happy.

Contouring… I go super light with Ofra or KAB, but I’m sure there’s a lot of good options. I’m 49 if that makes any difference.

I am nor too familiar with dupes for the mlm stuff a d usually when they have said something is a dupe its a very outdated product that may even be discontinued. Id me go into a sephora or ulta and ask a beauty advisor. I can however say elf , or nyx have great things for a lower price point , a brand like rare beauty has some similar products at a similar price point to mary kay and does have a lot for a more natural look too.
