Recently I have been walking everywhere, about 2-4 miles a day and occasionally 10 miles. I am also standing for most of the day. The shoes I’ve been wearing for the past year quickly wore down and now have a few holes in them. What is a good brand to look to for a lot of walking? I’m looking for durability and comfort. Price range is under $150.

Also, I’ve been a one pair person for most of my life, but since I am walking so much should I look to get a second to rotate into during the week?

Definitely rotate between at least two or three pairs, so shoes can dry out in between wears. Letting them dry out will enable them to last longer too.

Maybe some nikes if you get them in the outlet store or on sale that’s probably good for day to day walking. Sketchers work well to but ill be honest they just are not the highest quality and need more replacing

Most running shoes including hoka are made with EVA rubber soles. It provides a lot of lightweight cushion but at the cost of longevity.

For durability and comfort id look for welted leather shoes or boots that can be resoled and get leather insoles. Upfront cost will be high but will pay off overtime

Could try Becket and Simonon or Jim Green theyve got good prices and quality

Or have a look on ebay or other pre-owned sites for higher end brands like Grenson, Danner, Alden, RM Williams
