I wear tarte Amazonian clay foundation and I stopped and now I’m breaking out all over frequently. What’s going on!?!? I have oily skin. I’m 28.

That foundation was designed to absorb oil. The foundation might also be bacteriostatic - meaning something about the foundation might make it hard for germs to thrive.

Disclaimer - thats my GUESS. I’m not here saying that amazonian clay kills germs. I’m saying that germs have a preferred environment - a particular pH, a particular food, a particular oxygen level. You might have deprived them of those things by using that foundation. And now that you stopped, they can thrive again. Again - thats a guess.

That seems like a good guess to me. My skin is extremely oily so it would make sense that using it acted as a barrier. I’m trying to have clear skin all the time and not have to wear makeup at all. Last night I wore it again after like 2 months, and my skin looks so much better this morning. The irony. 😂
