Don’t hate on the serviced 1675. I wish it had everything original, but you should have seen how bad a shape this thing was in before service. The Vietnam war was not kind to this watch. Cracked glass. Gouges in the bezel insert. Dust and dirt. On the dial. Rolex completely overhauled this thing and it looks great now.

The Omega is just an awesome display of modern watch making with totally a cool new color combo. Don’t understand why I don’t see more of these on Reddit tbh.

Would you rather have the serviced Pepsi or the new 75th anniversary summer blue diver 300m?

I’m not a Rolex guy, but I would take that Pepsi over the seamaster by a mile, even without the war story. It looks so much better.

New for both, the Omega. But that Rollie went through Nam? Thats awesome. Would take the watch with a story. Enjoy your timepieces!

The Rolex easily, it’s beautiful and iconic and the bracelet on that is so clean compared to the rubber strap of the SMP. But man I gotta be real, Rolex absolutely polished the HELL out of this thing like damn. The bezel’s grooves are the biggest indicator of the amount of metal they took off of this. Regardless, it’s still beautiful and I hope you wear it in great health! Good on you for taking care of it

    I own a Pepsi and a Seamaster

Two totally different experiences on the wrist

I like the Omega but it’s half the price of a Pepsi (MSRP) As for a older Pepsi,I think it’s pretty cool Esp if it’s old as me or older

    Definitely take the Rolex

Pepsi and it’s not even close. I need a proper bracelet when I’m spending that sort of money.

Without the story, Omega every single time.

But if I had that kinda story behind a Rolex, I’d begrudgingly keep it and probably wear it.

The 1675…I had one (sold it to buy a APRO), and now have a 16700. Slim case GMT is the only Rolex I’ll own, I have no interest in any others.

Not only that, but my dad was a Dustoff pilot, served from Vietnam through the Gulf War, and I still have his Seiko he bought in Vietnam.

Hell yeah. Would love to chat with your dad about the Dustoff sometime. I was too young to grill my grandfather with questions and hear his stories before he passed away.

I’d pick the GMT Master. I like the dimensions and I love how that pepsi bezel ages over time. The history on that specific watch is amazing, and it makes it a winner for sure.

I like the seamaster pro in general, but I’m not too crazy about the summer blue color way. I think this would have been harder choice for me if it was just regular blue seamaster pro. But with summer blue, I’d much rather the GMT Master.

    With the war story: GMT

    Without the war story: GMT

It’s not even close for me. That thing literally would not come off my wrist.

The SMP looks like a cheap toy these days. I’ve been a big fan of Omega, but their line has not impressed me at all lately. I have an SMP with the sword hands that I’ve had for 20 years that I’ll never get rid of. I also wear a GMT. I’d be hard pressed to find a newer Omega I’d want to wear.
