So many brands are bringing out Lip oil’s at the moment. Are they worth the money? Has anyone noticed a remarkable difference from using a lip oil? What are they actually meant to do? I have seen Dior have a popular lip oil I have tried reading reviews on this but none have really told me what a lip oil is actually for. Cheaper brands like NYX, Elf have also brought out lip oils but again after researching im none the wiser on the actual use of these oils.

I’m currently using Milani’s lip oils. They’re a bit on the sticky side but I do like how they keep my lips hydrated. I got the Nyx one to try when I’m done with Milani’s. For me, I really liked Lottie London’s Oil Slick. It lives up to its name and keeps my lips super soft.

I’m a big fan of the ColourPop Lux Lip Oils. At $10 each I can buy 4 for the cost of 1 Dior Lip Oil. I will try the new ELF Lip Oils.

I haven’t really noticed any difference in my lip condition, but I quite like lip oils. They feel good and add a little shine. I like Nyx.

Dior is worth it. NYX, Milani and Clarins are not for me. I don’t think they are any more special than lip gloss. They just feel like heavier lip glosses to me. My favorite affordable lip oil is from Black Opal.

They haven’t changed my lips. They just feel way nicer and moisturize better than a gloss (I don’t like thick, sticky, goopy textures on my lips) but still add shine and sheer color. And I love just a sheer wash of color for my everyday look! I like the Kosas one but not the packaging so I probably won’t repurchase. I want to buy the new Milk one at some point (I tried in store and it was lovely) though as well as the e.l.f. one. I’ve also heard the Milani fruit fetish oil is an amazing affordable choice.

If you like a shiny lip, but don’t like the stickiness or goopiness of a lip gloss, oils are a good choice. They’re not all made equal. I’ve tried some that are hydrating and also some that seem to have dried out my lips. The go bad faster than regular glosses

I like the clarins lip oil! It’s sooo hydrating, makes my lip look so soft and juicy, and I get really dry lips so this definitely helps! What I do is I usually put a lip stain underneath, and the clarins lip oil in honey over the top, and the lips stay good all day, just have to top up the lip oil without having to reapply lipstick so neatly and precisely

I have used the Clarins brand for probably 5 years and the salesperson told me ‘I sleep with it on because it’s so conditioning!’

Yeah, no. Maybe some other brands fit that description but it’s just a little gentler than a gloss. Still dries me out (I’m lazy now about trying new things, did enough expensive research in my younger days so I don’t change brands as much if they do what I want or close to)

Chapstick for life, color/oil for events.

The best coloured lip oil I have ever used is ELF Nude Kiss, totally my lips but better.

Unfortunately I found it to actually dry my lips out. I don’t know why, but it’s a shame.
