Yep. I owned the exact same model and had the exact same problem—leaving blue marks on my wrist. Once I cleaned it, I couldn’t get it to stop it from happening over and over again. (This is part of the reason why I eventually sold it.)
Best option I’ve found is to never clean the inside of the bracelet or just switch to a strap.
Different company but, strangely enough, the Zenith that made TVs owned Zenith watches for a brief time in the 1970s.
It would be easier (and potentially cheaper) to buy a new bracelet for your Khaki vs. trying to mix and match pieces.
Also, invest in a set of digital calipers to help with measuring things like lugs, strap widths, end links. It’s worth the $20 on Amazon.
I really like Roue’s designs, especially the TPS chronos. They are quartz and well within your budget.
