I have never gotten into wearing lip products (or really anything on my lips aside from regular Burt’s bees chapstick). I don’t know why but I just feel so uncomfortable and garish whenever I have any lip stuff on….I think maybe part of it is a texture thing for me? Like, glosses are super sticky and don’t stay on, matte or long lasting lipsticks crack and dry my lips out….I wear a full face everyday but just can’t take the plunge on committing to lip stuff. If I put it on, I wipe it off within 10 minutes.

What do other people consider a daily essential that you just can’t abide? Why do you think that is?

PS do any of you think it’s crazy to imagine full glam minus colored lips? Am I crazy?

makeup shadows, I feel that they should only be used on a very special occasion like a wedding or party, not for everyday use

Eyelash curler. I know it won’t actually happen but I’m too afraid of flinching or sneezing and ripping my eyelid off. What WILL happen is I’ll get too lazy to clean it regularly and will 100% end up with a stye.

All makeup. I’ve never worn any and can’t tolerate the sensation of anything coating any part of my face or getting close to my eyes.

Foundation. Can’t stand it. I’ll use a light powder compact sometimes but I can NOT use any liquid foundation. It just feels so gross and fake.

Also, lashes. Tried them once and within an hour was ripping them off. They’re so heavy and weird. Hate em.

Same about the foundation. I cannot do liquid. It feels like grimy and heavy on my skin and like my skin can’t breathe. Like I put mud on my face. I hate the feeling of it on my face.

False lashes and contact lenses. Also powder eyeshadow all make my eyes fee gritty no matter if I use primer or what type.

Mascara. It itches, burns, runs, flakes… I barely need it anyway, but I wish I could still find a lash tint like we had in Y2K. I feel like the only one who remembers those.

Fake lashes. It’s already really hard for me to put them on, and on top of that they always look unnatural, even demi wispies. Maybe I need to try clusters.

I don’t do lip stuff either for the exact reasons you said. I also don’t do highlighter. It makes me feel like it’s highlighting my wrinkles. I don’t do fake lashes or primer either. I do everything else though!

Base/foundation and skin makeup in general. I do a full base on special occasions, on daily basis I stop after spf. Can’t stand the feeling of foundation on my skin for longer periods of time and it almost always has a negative effect on my skin. Not for me.

Eyeshadow. It never looks good on me, just mascara looks best. However most days the only thing I’m wearing is lipstick! And spf. No makeup but a matte, blotted fuschia is what I live in.

Most base products. Primer, foundation, concealer, and powder just feel so fussy and I hate how aware it makes me of every little bit of skin texture I have. Like yes, my skin is entirely one color but I feel like I have lines that I didn’t have before I applied all those products. Plus getting the right combo of all of those products that play perfectly with each other is a huge pain in the ass.

What I do instead most days is do my skincare and then set it with a translucent mattifying powder. My skin feels like it can breathe and it really helps smooth out the texture of my skin. I’m lucky enough that my skin tone is fairly even. When it gets cold my nose can get pretty red and sometimes I have dark circles but that’s it. So after the powder I use a nice pink powder blush to make any discoloration look intentional. I also use a powder highlighter on my cheekbones and just a tiny bit through the center of my face so I’m not too matte after the powder.

I also don’t bother with eyeliner most of time. I just can’t be bothered to do anything more than a one and done kind of eyeshadow and some mascara anymore.
