I have long thick lashes that are unfortunately mostly straight and don’t curl easily. my entire life i would literally just bring an eyelash curler with me in my bag and nothing else because my eyelashes would always fall back down with any mascara i used. I’ve used benefit, smashbox, maybelline sky high, loreal telescopic, waterproof, non waterproof, and they all fall down eventually. the only one i’ve found that doesn’t make my lashes fall down is elf lash n roll, but i haven’t been able to find something similar to it. I never hear anyone else having this problem. Why does this happen to me?

maybe your lashes are super healthy and strong? idk. sounds genetic to me. have you tried heated lash curlers? that might hold a little longer.

That might be true, i have kinda masculine looking eyelashes and eyebrows where each hair strand itself is very thick. I never even thought of that. I will definitely give the heated eyelash curler a try, but are they damaging or safe?

You can just hit your regular curler with a blast from a blow dryer for the same thing. I have even used the car heater in a pinch.

I just use a lighter and feel on my hand if it’s not too hot for accidentally touching my eyelid

Have you tried asian mascaras? My lashes never held a curl until I tried these. Just be warned, they are hard to remove!

Yes especially the ‘Kiss Me Herione Make’ mascara, it has been life changing! In my case I found its easy enough to remove with oil cleansers (since it’s waterproof) :)

Ugh, me too. I just got the Grande Lash heated lash curler based on another redditor comment. It’s the best I’ve found so far.

I first comb then curl my lashes with a traditional curler, put on my mascara, then use the heated curler and it stays longer than anything else I’ve tried. Still figuring out the best mascara for the method.

My lashes never held with the popular mascaras everyone was using. Until I tried the same mascaras, but the waterproof versions. This changed the makeup game for me. My favorite for the last 3 years has been L’Oréal lash paradise waterproof. I do one eye at a time as I have to immediately apply the mascara or my lashes droop. It stays curled all day.

Have you tried waterproof mascara? They hold curl better than regular mascara and if that doesn’t work try Asian mascaras like the other commenter mentioned. Some are actually bulletproof

Curl with a good eyelash curler and then ONLY waterproof mascara (Loreal or Maybelline are great, as long as waterproof) I’ve been doing this for 40years. I have long, full lashes I always get comments on. As long as you use a good waterproof mascara remover like Bifacil by Lancome or Clinique take the day off…the mascara will slide right off. Every.Single. regular mascara pulls the curl right out. I was a makeup artist and I’ve tried them all. Favorite eyelash curlers are Bobbie Brown, Kevin Aucoin, and Shiseido. Sorry, the drugstore ones don’t cut it. But the drugstore mascaras are excellent again, waterproof formulas.

i had the issue as well. i just stopped using a curler and used a spoolie to separate my lashes after applying mascara. it helps them look a little more “lifted” since the mascara is drying while my lashes are being brushed up. plus it takes away some excess so the mascara doesn’t weigh them down as much.

I used to have the same problem. Heat up your eyelash curler with a lighter or your hair dryer and use waterproof mascara. I use buxom waterproof and maybelline lash stiletto.
