  • Everyone here has made some wonderful suggestions so I won’t add to it to much! I’m Australian, I know Nyx stocks colourful eyeliners at Priceline if you’re interested in that! I’ve seen good reviews online for Natasha Denona’s palettes or Huda Beauty which you can get at Sephora buuuut they can get expensive so that may not be in your budget. Sephora has a few other eyeshadow palettes though!

I would maybe also ask r/AustralianMakeup reddit! It’s a much smaller community but they might have ideas for Australia specific available brands. Good luck! You sound like a lovely in law!

  • Your skin will naturally produce oils, sweat and tears, even if you’re not doing anything strenuous. Unfortunately, not all makeup works on all skin types and it takes a bit of trial and error to get something that works for you. What others recommend may not actually be suitable for your skin type.

My personal tip is to maybe hold back on doing heavy eye makeup until you can work out what the combination is to make it stay. Heavy eyemakeup that migrates and smudges always ruins the makeup look and it can be quite disheartening.

If you’re not using an eye primer, I would recommend it. Face primer does not work the same as eye primer as I learnt the hard way. Apply it to both your lid and under eye and let it dry properly before applying any shadows/liner. I’d use a combo of lighter shades and lighter liner/mascara until you can work out what is causing the problem without it looking like a disaster.

Another thing could be making sure your makeup has time to “set” in between steps. This will help with the longevity of the makeup.

  • This sounds like my natural daily look! It depends on your lip gloss colour too, if it’s quite subtle. I think if you want to make it more obvious, you can make it a more bold colour. You can also increase your eyeshadow colouring to shape the eyes or add a subtle eyeliner. Doing your brows can also help with shaping and framing the face. Some people will use bronzer/blush to bring out more colour in the face but depends on your skin tone/type. I personally don’t love adding face products for an everyday look cause it does too much for my face.
