  • I wish I could. I stopped wearing them for that exact reason haha. I mostly only wear the elf hydrating core tinted balm thing these days with a lip liner, and sometimes I’ll wear a bullet lipstick, but I find even those are sometimes drying for me. Sorry I can’t be more of a help, hopefully someone else has better answers for you!!

  • I use maybelline fit me foundation dewy finish cuz the matte one dries me out too much. That plus color correcting with a nyx cc palette and elf hydrating camo concealer works pretty well for me. But I have never managed to cover them 100%. I, just like you, wish I could have completely clear skin sometimes. But I dislike the way full coverage foundation and too much product feels on my face.

I recommend user @gabxxrielle on Instagram. She has freckles and always manages to cover them up. I’d take this with a grain of salt, though, because the full coverage foundation and heavy product usually looks better on camera than it does irl, but you might be able to find some good recommendations on her page.

  • I love them. I’ve noticed that people on this sub tend to trend towards more natural makeup, which is very surprising to me. I remember seeing one post talking about overlining lips, and everyone was talking about how it looks bad in real life. Wtf? No it doesn’t! It depends on your lip shape as well of course but if you do it right it can look great, even in real life. And same with falsies. It’s weird to me that some people can’t appreciate the artistry behind full glam looks just because they personally prefer natural looks. I think both and everything in between are awesome, even though I personally think natural makeup looks horrible on me.

  • Your mother is very far from the truth. There are plenty of girls who don’t wear makeup. You don’t have to force yourself to use it if you don’t want to. If anything, that’ll just lead you to having a negative association with makeup. She’s the weird one for pressuring you to use it…

If you do decide to wear makeup out of your own volition, I know a lot of women with rosacea and other skin issues tend to omit base makeup. Or they won’t use foundation, maybe sparingly use concealer under their eyes, and wear blush and stuff. They choose to embrace their skin issues instead of trying to slather products on and cover them up. There are a lot of sensitive-skin-friendly products out there. There are like, makeup/skincare hybrids. I’m sure there’s recommendations out there. If you chose to, you could always go to a doctor/derm and try and figure out what ingredient it is specifically that irritates your skin. But this is somewhat of a hassle, and if you don’t actually like wearing makeup, I’d just say to avoid it haha.

  • I started wearing makeup in middle school. Yes, it’s normal to not like or want to wear makeup. You can do whatever you want, forever. I love wearing makeup- but I hate taking it off. I’d wear it everytime I went out if I didn’t have to go through the grueling process of taking it off. I’m a lazy ass. I have sensitive body skin, but I don’t think I have particularly sensitive facial skin? I’ve never had makeup irritate my skin (except for when I sleep in it and then get acne which is… a given.)

Good/bad is pretty subjective, because the same makeup product can lay terribly on one person’s face, and be another person’s holy grail. It really depends. For me, I have freckles, so I never wear tinted moisturizers/bb/cc creams. The all over sheer finish makes my face look really bad. My freckles always look grey. It’s horrible lol.

I have rather short lashes so to make them look longer I use loreal lash primer combined with the telescopic mascara. I always heard good reviews about telescopic but it didn’t do it for me until I used it with the primer, and that’s what has been working best for me. I’ve heard good reviews about the essence lash princess mascara as well but I personally haven’t tried it out yet so I wouldn’t know.

Stay away from eyeshadow that’s too cheap, it’s usually chalky. I’m a fan of drugstore makeup since I’m also a cheap ass but eyeshadow is one thing I don’t buy at CVS or whatever. Colourpop has affordable eyeshadows that are usually well formulated in my experience. You can also use an eyeshadow primer if you find you have issues with the eyeshadow not be the same color/vibrancy on your lid as it is in the pan, or fading too fast.

One thing I’d be on the lookout for is checking to see if you have a double lip line. I do and for years I wondered why lipstick never looked right on me. Then I started using a lipliner and my makeup game changed. I will never go back to not using a lipliner. Ever. Some people can omit it. I am not one of those people lol.
