I purchased from GOAT in February a pair of Banned 1’s. I sold them on eBay this past week, & eBay is certain they are fakes. Spoke with multiple representatives on eBay support & they confirmed multiple authenticators agreed the shoes were fake. I now opened a dispute with GOAT, who said the shoes are no longer within the return policy. What can I do?
I had a similar issue with GOAT where I believed they sold me fakes. Pure hell dealing with them so I will never spend any money there ever again even if it’s free, no thanks.
Same thing happened to me, had to sell the shoes back to goat
That’s why I never buy from any resellers.
Reselling through GOAT is an option of course, as others shared, but if they fail, they are still not going to back track and say they will honor the initial purchase through them. They will just ship them back to you and charge you shipping. Your best bet is to go to your bank and let them know they sold you fakes. Take all communication with you from eBay. Also, run through Check Check and/or Legit App. More separate parties in agreement is better for you. This means multiple parties agree they’re fake. There is a law stating goods advertised as real, but sold as fake, is illegal. I had this happen to me on the NTWRK app, and had to stand on this law to get my money back. But, the kicker is, I had both of those legit apps separately agree, the shoes were fake. GOAT is not going to help you. They are pricks. Best of fortune to you!
eBay is horseshit and full of alleged “experts” but they regularly perma ban accounts without any justifications and then refuse to provide details as to why the account was considered to be in violation of their T.o.S. I have doubts in their ability to authenticate anything not currently marketed/readily available to use as a reference tbh and would avoid using their platform if possible.
They wouldnt authenticate my yeezys when i bought them straight from adidas. They claimed that someone mightve bought a pair from adidas, switched them out with fakes, returned them to adidas and then I receievd the fakes. Nobody was returning yeezys in 2018/19
Ebay purchased Sneaker Cons’ authentication business. So shoes have to go to the authenticator before being shipped to the buyer. I assume those would be itens with “Authentication Guaranteed”.
Tough situation. I had to stop buying things from stock x because I couldn’t trust them anymore. I bought some pink lx dunks from stock and and sold it back within 3 months. Stock x said it failed verification because it was missing laces which is bs because when I got the sneakers back I could see someone snatched off the laces
Why do you assume that Goat got it wrong and ebay got it right ? Why not the other way round ?
Happened to DGhoops. GOAT sent fake kobe EYBL. So he sold again on GOAT.
Did eBay give you reasons as to why they think they were fake? Like was there anything that stuck out to them?
They do not give out details when it fails for authenticity. The reasoning is to prevent actual scammers from learning and adjusting their fakes to then pass.
If it fails for any other reason, they will state the exact reason it did not pass, so the seller can make the adjustment in the listing.
Ah yeah that makes sense, but is simultaneously unfortunate. Yeah I think OP is stuck here unfortunately.
Call your bank and explain that you were sold fake/replica shoes for the price of the real shoe. They will reimburse you. GOAT doesn’t even care as long as they keep slanging fakes all day. I had the same problem recently with a pair of Nike SB Dunks in the Classic Green colorway. They refused to take them back because it was outside the return window of 72hours. That policy is absolutely ridiculous! GOAT deserves as many chargebacks as they get.
Post a photo. Let’s see what they look like
A friend of mine has sold dozens of pairs of worn (usually just once or twice) shoes on Goat as new and never had an issue. I guess what this leads me to believe is that Goat makes money on authenticated sales, not sales denied due to inauthenticity. Point being, they’re not going to go out of their way to say a pair isn’t authentic.
Just wear them
No need to pass along to the next guy. Take the hit no need to screw another person over it.
What was the shoe?
