  • I don’t think one needs a primer really - both face and eyes. As you become more familiar with how you like your makeup, you’ll understand if you actually need it. I think a sponge/beauty blender would be useful for foundation application.

You can use your fingers for eyeshadows if you go for easy looks. But overall 1 blending brush and 1 smaller (but still a bit fluffy) brush for more precise application would be the most useful.

If possible, you can try using your lipstick as a blush to see if you like it.

Less is more. And add products gradually one by one when you feel like you need it.

Dry products I keep indefinitely. Cream or liquids I keep for about 3 years because at that point I think it’s obvious to me that I don’t like it that much or it’s not very useful (I’m also impatient). So far nothing has ever gone bad on me (changed in any way)

  • I suggest building up little by little until you find the place you’re happy with. Maybe start with products that have less pigment and one by one. Maybe try a concealer first, but not a high coverage one. Maybe even use a light foundation or tinted balm as concealer. When you get used to it try a clear eyebrow gel, maybe brown mascara etc.
