I do toner and lotion. Then I do my hair first because I don’t want heat on my face after I do makeup. (I do hair last if I’m not blow drying.) I always do eye shadow first. Then foundation, concealer if needed, and finish with contouring and blush. Then eyeliner followed by mascara. And lastly, brush teeth and lipstick. Et voila. This is most logical to me. Though lately I just wear foundation and lipstick, but that’s a whole other thing that could be a post in itself.

You do you, boo! My routine is brush teeth, sunscreen, do hair while my sunscreen is absorbing. Then foundation, concealer, highlighter, eyeshadow, setting powder and then lips.

I brush my teeth and wash my face. Then I do toner and moisturizer. Then I do eye shadow, eyeliner, and mascara. After that, it’s concealer and foundation, then eyeliner and mascara on the bottom. Then blush. If I remember, I add lip balm or lip gloss. Finish with brushing my eyebrows and setting spray.

My entire routine starts with: quick body shower, wash face in shower, put mask on, rinse off mask, brush teeth, put on moisturizer, do my hair, begin makeup.

Makeup routine: primer, foundation, concealer on the peaks, contour in the valleys, powder blush, eyebrows, eyeshadow primer, eyeshadow, eyeliner, highlight powder, setting spray, mascara, then finally lipstick if I so choose.

I used to use setting powder, which I would apply just before highlighter, but yesterday I finally took a leap of faith and went without it and the world didn’t end. My makeup looks so much better without it, and my liquid foundation doesn’t transfer without it, which is why I thought I needed to use setting powder in the first place. I did it, guys! I broke free from the chains of youtube university school of cosmetology class of 2016

I learned to do my makeup in the 00’s so I probably do it differently (and possibly wrong) compared how it’s done these days. For me it’s:

    • shower and wash face, apply serums, moisturiser, sunscreen and SPF lip balm

    • straighten hair (if I’m straightening it)

    • another layer of sunscreen (I live in Australia so I have to be diligent with this even in winter), and then I let it set for 5-10 minutes

    • foundation. In summer I will normally add setting power over my foundation but I don’t bother in winter

    • eye shadow and/or liner (sometimes I skip this step)

    • mascara

    • blush OR bronzer depending on my look (I rarely use both)

    • style hair (no heat)

    • lipstick 💄

    Aaaaand I’m done.

I do not think there is a right order, I watch so many makeup youtubers and their orders are all so different. Like people who do eyes first, brows first, complexion first, concealer before or after foundation etc… it seems to vary a lot.

My order is like this: Colour corrector-> concealer-> under eye powder-> eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara -> foundation -> setting powder -> blush (unless cream or liquid, then it goes before powder) -> highlighter -> brow pencil-> lip liner -> lipstick -> setting spray.

If I am not doing eyeshadow, then i do my base first. So foundation-> corrector -> concealer -> powder -> eyeliner and mascara -> lips -> setting spray.

I need to get a setting spray. I don’t use anything right now. When I was in high school, I actually used hair spray on my face a few times haha. Anyone else ever do that? Edit: not recommended!

I do toner, serum, moisturizer or sunscreen. Next I do my eye makeup while my skincare settles into my skin then I prime, color correct, foundation concealer, brows, blush, bronzer and contour, powder then highlighter. Last is lips.

I don’t think there’s a right or wrong order. Just whatever works for you. I still don’t understand underpainting though. Just seems like more work and more product

if i’m going out at night like for dinner or the club or a fancy event i do concealer on my under eyes, then put a darker concealer that matches my skin tone where i have acne and blend it together with a beauty blender. i use a large brush and apply a light layer of light powder on my undereye area, and the center of my face then a darker powder around the rest of my face and i kind of blend it a bit then if i want to i do my bronzer but i ALWAYS do blush then if im feeling fancy ill do my eye makeup and depending on the event or mood ill apply eyeliner then undereye mascara lipgloss setting spray then i’m done

After cleansing I do a lotion, serum, eye cream, and moisturizer with a few minutes between each application and top off with a lip treatment. Then I assess if I need foundation if so, apply that then concealer and under eye coverage. I then do a light contour under cheek bones and blush, then I apply a light dusting of powder. I apply eye makeup last, sometimes it’s a light swipe of color, others a full “look” with eyeliner and mascara (I’ve never had an issue with eyeshadow fallout, but if I use a super glittery color then I will put a tissue under my eye just in case). I honestly don’t plan my eye looks enough though to do them first. Sometimes I do my brows and eyelashes but not always. Then a lip gloss or tinted balm.

The right order is the order that works for you :) my routine is out hair into a bun then wash face, apply retinol, brush teeth. Apply aquaphor to eye lids and lips, moisturizing sunscreen to rest of face, set with powder foundation then blush. Eyebrow powder, lipstick. The hair remains in the bun lol

The order that works best for you is the correct order.

I do skincare first - vitamin C, dewy moisturizer and sunscreen. Usually the dewiness from the moisturizer is my “base” since I don’t typically use foundation or concealer.

Then I do eyes. Eye primer, eyeliner, eyeshadow and mascara (in that order). I clean up any fallout or messiness, and then if I were doing a foundation (Salt NY Sneaky Balm), I would do it next. Followed by blush and highlighter. Then lip gloss. Finally, a dewy setting spray. I will occasionally use a contour or bronzer if I’m using foundation.

I put primer all over, then foundation, then my eyes, then brows, lips, setting spray, blow dry that, then do my eyeliner and mascara. Then I do my hair.

I actually use the product I wanna use first (either eyes, lips, or cheeks) so that I can choose colours that suit it afterwards. For example, I want to wear red lips today then I’ll do that first, or I want a green eye look then that and so on.

I do skin care (wash, tone, moisturizer, oil), 90% of hair to let the skin care set, makeup, finish my hair (I have bangs so those are last and any hair accessories).

I don’t think there’s a right order, but more what works for you. I never get my hair soaking wet in the morning, so dry time isn’t an issue but I do need time for my bangs to set before I let them down. I also don’t wear foundation.

I’m so bad… I’ve always done my base first, then eyes and the lips. As if I was building something.

I really should try the opposite as you’ve suggested

I do the same! I do my skin base first, then eyebrows and eyes :)

I don’t do much with the eyes usually because I have eyelash extensions… Sometimes I’ll wear eyeshadow or eyeliner, but on the daily I am a more natural makeup girly :)
